What is a fuel filler cap?
A fuel filler cap is a component found on vehicles that covers the fuel inlet, typically located on the side or rear of the vehicle. Its primary function is to seal the fuel tank, preventing fuel from evaporating and keeping contaminants out of the tank.
This cap is usually threaded onto the fuel inlet pipe and can be easily opened when refuelling the vehicle by twisting it off. Once refuelling is complete, the cap is securely tightened to maintain the integrity of the fuel system.
