Mo’s, mullet’s, movement and hobby horse races! How we’ve raised funds for Movember

On average, men will die 4.5 years earlier than women. Suicide, prostate cancer and testicular cancer all contribute to why men die prematurely. The Movember initiative aims to shift that stat. Through global fundraising, Movember has funded more than 12,50 men’s health projects in 20 different countries. 

The team here at Bulbeck Group, including SpillPro, ovesco and Cleanawater, proudly supports Movember. We have been moving (running and walking) and growing some pretty spectacular mullets and mo’s all month. With a week to go, we’re just shy of our $5000 goal. As a small business, we are super proud of our efforts. It hasn’t just been our body hair that has grown throughout November. So has our awareness and willingness to act on men’s health issues. 

Here is a snapshot of how Team Bulbeck has gotten into the Movember spirit over the past few weeks…

The Bulbeck Cup 

Coinciding with the iconic horse race, staff onsite at our Mayfield West HQ kicked off Movember fundraising in our typical unconventional style with a hobby horse sprint around the warehouse. Winner, jockey and Digital Manager Adam Grabda, completed the course in a stellar 24 seconds. 

The inaugural Bulbeck Cup took team building to a whole new level - and raised a sweet $200 to kick off Movember fundraising efforts. 

It was certainly the race that stopped Mayfield West! 

Hat and fascinator contest 

Coinciding with the Cup was our Melbourne Cup Day hat comp. The men and women of Bulbeck Group got creative with an array of colourful head pieces. Marketing coordinator and craft superstar Kristen Goldsworthy took out the coveted hat prize, with an amazing creation involving two toy ponies.

Mo’s, mullets and movement
